Keep it up

June 15th, 2008

I was actually going to come to Stockholm for that last week-event, but now I won’t. Unfortunately. There has been a big project coming in, so I have to stay in Hamburg. :(

I don’t know how you guys feel about it, but to me it all ended so abruptly. I can’t believe it’s all over yet…

So I probably won’t see most of you guys ever(?) again. This makes me really sad. I really enjoyed that year at Hyper. It was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life so far.

Hopefully, this blog doesn’t die. It would be great if people would keep posting, so we’d know what each of us is up to.

Besides knowing how your desktops looks like, I would be very much interested in knowing where you are working after the internship.

As for me, I’ve been offered a very nice job here in Hamburg, but it’s not 100% yet. So I will let you know as soon as my name is on the contract. You’ll also get a desktop picture then, too.

So, keep posting and have a nice Midsommar!

Allright second blogpost. What can I say that I didn’t say in the first post? Well I have reverted back into a human (even if I am hairer now).Hairy birdie

I guess I can talk about the thing that slowly but surely is taking over my life: POKER! Oh yes. I have become a pokerpro…well sort of…I can’t make a living of it yet, but I have started to win money…and lose money…

But since I started to play so much I decided to keep track of my winnings and losses to see if I’m up or down.

First week:

played for: 596,4$
won: 545$ 20$-food voucher xD

+/- = -31,4$

Second week:

played for: 99,5$

won: 200$

+/- = +100,5$

small winnings

Third week (not finished yet)
played for: 30$

won: 50$

+/- = +20$

I finished 23rd out of 107 in a 200$tournament (I won the ticket)

So I doing allright pokerwise.

Lifewise I’m still doing great even though I finally started to drink beer. Good for me, huh?

I’m coming back to Sweden on saturday 14th. I REALLY don’t want to, but I guess a summer in Sweden could be nice. Looking forward to meeting my friends and doing nothing for a while. Right now I’m just writing without thinking, because I have no idea how much I’m supposed to write and I am too damn tired to look it up.

Well I’ll see you alla soon. take care.

ps. oh yeah, my internship is going well

At the same time on carrer de Calàbria

Early on I got a good feeling about this whole experience. Maybe from the train ride to Barcelona where I saw real flamingos and thought “Their actually quite graceful and not at all.. corny” or maybe it was during the first meeting with my boss at the local corner cafe, where I noticed the radio playing Righeira classic 80’s summer anthem “Vamos a la Playa”, naturally taking it as a good sign.

I wont lie, I have worked … a lot. But I have learned… a lot, really a lot. I have designed things that have made me me think “Did I really do this? This is quite good…”. I feel very fortunate to have ended up at Vasava. The agency has a good learning environment and every day I pick up something new. And they are really skilled at what they do, perfectionist in the real sense of the word.

Barcelona is, according to me, one of the most most exciting cities in Europe at the moment. The city defiantly inspires you, whatever your creative field might be. This sounds of course like a cliché but its quite true.

The social, sunshine and night life side of Barcelona is prime excellence but it’s a known fact which any tourist guide book can tell you.

But I have the say, when it all comes down to it, its probably the people and experiences you remember when all this is sadly over. The morning breakfasts with my co-workers at the corner café , my landlady which occasionally insists of giving me salsa lessons, the hairdresser in Sitges which used to be Take-That’s former stylist and always has a story from the Hacienda heyday to tell, the beach party’s at Barceloneta that goes on until the morning, the crêpes place in Born where the part time staff are design students and they always serve you a free drink cause they like when you drop by and… so on and so on..

Sadly enough I will not join the rest of you people in mid June at Hyper Island. But I will say, and meaning this the utterly most, It has been a real privilege to spend a year with the most brilliant, fun and odd collection of individuals that is IAD08. So until the next time our paths cross… Take care and live well!

Yours.

THE ART OF TABLE TENNIS

June 5th, 2008

I am going to start saying good-bye to my forest town now.
Only one week left to wonder around in Vondelpark, kicking on stones, exploreing the woods and feeling like Èmile in that book of Rousseau. The things I’m gonna miss most in this strange town will be: the Shorma (superior kebab), the chees-guy who makes my lunch sandwich every day, a dog named Lolly, the parks and a lot of people I work with.

On Sunday it’s the annual table tennis tournament for all the companies here in Amsterdam working with media. I’m going to represent the agency together with three other people. This is my opportunity to shine. Fuck Cannes and advertising, it’s all about ping-pong people!

And to all of you that is not coming home for graduation - Arrivideci!

The second time around

June 4th, 2008

I’ve got to admit, the only thing that I’m looking forward to right now is the following; Summer and the upcoming Euro 2008 Football tournament.

Workwise, we are at the end phase of our major projects that I’ve been workning on together with Paul and the rest of the team. That includes Vikning Line, RFSU and NEC. I’m all excited to see both projects go live sometimes next fall. It’s all up to the production agnecy to put the sites into production. Looking forward to see them all live.

Right now I’m working on Apollo’s new campaing site. Me and my buddy Paul came up with some great web ideas to push forward the brand on the web (also some Photoshop sketches).

Went to a party at B-Reel at Medborgarplatsen. Lots of people, booz and beers. Nice weather too. Before that at the same evening, we palyed football on the green grass of Gärdet. We kicked some ases.

Two weeks ago the agency went to Italy and Lake Como for a feel-good-trip for three days. Of course we had a blast. Party at the pool, lots of booz, good food and wine/beers, not so nice weather, but greatest time. And what happend in Italy stays in Italy :-)

Last sunday was a working day since we had to be at the Svenska Filminstutet’s studio 2 for a viral/commercial shoot for NEC, the Japanese computer company. Also supporting actor together with another half Swedis half French inern and the rest of the team. Whatch soon on YouTube.

A week and a half is what is left from my internship at Åkestam.Holst and it all feels alright.

Catch up with you later.

Cheers,

Namroud

This is true!

Here in Osdorp (a suburb in Amsterdam) were I live, we have rap artists.

They are famous here, you can hear them on the radio all the time.

They rap like Markolio (a swedish MEGA-super-star-raper),

have mullet with stripes on the side, wear Iceman T-shirts and they have

very very color full Nike shoes.

So thats good!

Walk in peace/Fanny

Still don’t wanna go home, ever!

May 28th, 2008

There are so many brilliantly smart people here and to be a part of this office is something I only could dream about ten years ago when I was lost as hell. I think I’m doing pretty well actually, sometimes I hear the brilliantly smart people mention my name. To be honest, why shouldn’t they? I’m one of the smart ones and the same goes to you: Jens Ellinor Elin Jessica Anna Nadia Per Rasmus Namroud Simon Simon Charlotte Rasmus Crille Robin Chris Frederic Abby Stina Fabio Henrik Fanny Katarina Carl and Christoffer.

Ok for this time I’ll include Jocke as well.

Since I won’t attend on our last day in Stockholm I would like to thank you all for the best year in my life. See you in Cannes!

Best
